This variety has strong links to a Ming Dynasty Emperor who provided his royal robes to protect the four original plants that produced this famous variety. Over the centuries Big Red Robe has become one of the most famous and sort after teas in the world. It is renowned for it distinctive black twisted slender leaf and rich roasted aroma. A smooth wholesome taste closer to an early-picked black tea.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Black Tea is considered warming and nourishing. Brewing Instructions
Use 3–5 grams of tea per 500ml pot. Brew in a glass teapot, porcelain gaiwan, or clay teapot with freshly boiled water (90–95°C) for 2–3 minutes. Re-infuse the same leaves up to 3 times, adjusting steeping time to taste.
